Jackie Kibuka used her commission to script and R&D a new interdisciplinary dance performance, Jajja-15. Uncovering a British-Ugandans journey of discovery, bloodline, heritage and culture through the life of her late grandfather.
Jackie is an authentic, passionate and versatile movement artist, teacher and choreographer with over 12 years experience in many dance styles. She loves story telling and always looks to inspire and encourage others through her artistry. She has a vast and diverse training background presently and frequently training at Runway House and has previously trained with well-renowned Hip Hop companies Boadicea and Unity UK. Her credits include Breaking Convention, LFW AW18, Diversity Live, ITV Loose Women, Resolution Festival, Clout! Fringe Festival (2019), The Tide – Talawa Theatre Company, Everyone’s Talking about Jamie (film), Body Politic – THEM, Some Like It Hip Hop (2019) a ZooNation production, English National Opera – Drive in Live and National Theatre – Dick Whittington Panto (Assistant Choreographer).
As mentor on this project, Jackie worked with choreographer Kenrick Sandy MBE.
